One good friend recently got a chance to see penitentiary system of Greece closely, particularly it was the Athens prison Korydallos (φυλακές Κορυδαλλού). He was really shocked by what he saw. Beating, prisoner's humiliation, imprisonment without a charge - and all of this happened in the capital of the state that position itself as member of the European Union! Our friend was so much impressed and anxious that addressed to us with the request to organized fundraising charity campaign for people that held in that so called "prison" (he promised to write large detailed article about it, that you'll surely to see here).
The funds that will be collected in this charity campaign goes as payment for IP-telephony, it's the only one possibility for this miserable people to communicate with own families (it should be noted that 90% of prisoners in Greek's jails even not a Greeks, and arrived from neighbouring countries).
